La criminalité environnementale, un phénomène en plein essor
Résumé
La planète Terre se porte très mal depuis quelques décennies à cause notamment de certaines activités humaines à l'origine du réchauffement climatique, de l'érosion de la biodiversité ainsi que de l'épuisement des ressources naturelles. Cela justifie la prohibition et la criminalisation de certains comportements attentatoires à l'environnement tant par les conventions internationales que par les lois nationales. Cette criminalité en plein essor, encore mal connue, aux graves conséquences sur la santé humaine ainsi que sur la paix et la sécurité, appelle à la conjugaison des efforts à tous les niveaux pour la stopper.
Abstract
Over the past few decades, planet Earth has been in very poor health, due in particular to certain human activities that have caused global warming, the erosion of biodiversity and the depletion of natural resources. This justifies the prohibition and criminalization of certain environmentally damaging behaviors by both international conventions and national laws. This fast-growing crime, which is still poorly understood and has serious consequences for human health, peace and security, calls for joint efforts at all levels to put a stop to it.
